We started the month with school Fall festival and turned in bake good for the auction.  All proceeds were to help the 8th grade end of year trip.  It was a bit chilly, but we all had some fun and won items from the auction.  Then Isabel went to a friend’s birthday party that same weekend.  It was so nice to see them having fun since they have not seen each other for a while with going to different schools now they are both in Kindergarten. Isabel and I went to some craft shows and had some fun shopping.  Kindergarten had a special Thanksgiving meal with both classes. We parents volunteered to bring food and help serve kids.  Isabel’s class were the Indians and the other class were Pilgrims.  They both sand a song about their group and then said a prayer and set together to share.  Part of this she had to make outfits to wear, book about Thanksgiving and at home we shared things we are thankful for as we celebrated.  Isabel’s Sunday school class had a PJ party weekend before Thanksgiving, where they had a movie, snacks, and games all the kids had a great time.  Then later that day we celebrated another friend’s birthday.  Then headed into Thanksgiving week with pneumonia for me and cold for Tracy, but Thanksgiving was a nice time as usual.  Friday we went to the theater to see Cinderella it was Dad’s birthday gift from last month.  It was a good play and we had fun.  Then we did our annual cookie baking for the Christmas season.  We did cut back a bit due to being tired from all stuff going on, but got our goodies baked and put up until we need them for sharing.  We also got a letter from school for Isabel to join Orchestra starting the new year.

We always have several family birthdays to celebrate in this month.  So we gathered to do Martin’s at our house after one of his soccer games.  Then there was Ryan’s, Brett’s and Dad’s birthday as well this month.  Isabel had three chances to wear costumes this month, the daycare she goes to before and after school, had a costume parade and she was a black cat.  Then we had the trunk or treat at church and she was Eve for Disney’s Descendants.  The church also had crafts, food, and lots of great decorated trunks.  On our beggars night she went as Elena another Disney TV show.  One of Isabel’s friends had a birthday. It was a nice day and they had fun and I got to meet some of the other parents from her Kindergarten classmates as well.

Dance class started again for the year.  Still trying to get use to the change, for the past two year class has been on Tuesday and now it is on Wednesdays.  We ended up having a old friend of Isabel in her class we do not get to see any more with changes of schools.  So that was a nice surprise to see the girls catching up.  We are still getting use to all the homework for Kindergarten and helping her with her weekly Bible verses she has to memorize for school as well.  The nice thing is uniforms are good and no argument of what to wear for school.

Isabel started a new daycare that will transport her to school when she starts later this month.  It has been nice to get all the daily report of what she is doing and how it is going at the daycare.  We got her uniforms in and all school supplies to start Kindergarten this year.  First day of school all parents have to drop kids off for an opening ceremony to bless the students and staff for a great year and then we got to take pictures of the kids as they left for their classrooms.  It was a great start and each day Isabel is getting to know her classmates and enjoying learning.  The class had an island theme and they did a treasure hunt to get to know the different areas.  Then they had a ginger bread man that came and kept hiding from them and then they ate him after a story.  We had a parent teacher meeting to tell us things we needed to know of class work and thing expected of us to help our children learn and grow.

We headed to the beach with my parent and to meet up with my Sister and her family.  It was a good trip and kids and grownups enjoyed the week at the beach.  The weather was good while there, just a bit hot for us Ohioans  but the pool and ocean kept us cool.  Isabel went back to summer camp at her school for the rest of the month.  It was a great experience for her to get to know both Kindergarten teachers and the layout of the school before starting.  Each week they had a learning trip, swimming, some kind of science experiment, and went creeking.  There is a small creek that runs the back of the church/school property so they went exploring to see what kinds of things they might find.

Started month out with my birthday.  Nice dinner and some cake.  Then I worked a clothing sale of things Isabel had outgrown.  We had dance rehearsal then the following weekend was the dance recital.  All grandparents, local cousins, and friends came to support Isabel and then came back to the house for some food and visit.  Tracy and I celebrated our  12th anniversary this month and looking forward to many more.  Isabel started summer camp at her new school she will be attending Kindergarten.  My parent came to help out so we could have Isabel in the camp, since it was not good with our work schedules to get her there and pick her up.  Thankful for all their help so she could get to know the teacher, facilities, and some kids she would be in class with later.

We celebrated Mother’s Day with nice meal together.  Then we had Tracy’s birthday to celebrate and Dave’s birthday too.  The weather is starting to be nice again and getting ready for Isabel to finish at her current day care.  Off to the Ice Cream Festival again.  Fun to see the crafters and eating lots of ice cream.  The kids even got to play in a fire hose for a while which helped cool them off. The seeds are growing well and soon will be in the garden.

April 2016

December 18th, 2016

April started another month of getting ready for Spring and Isabel’s acceptance to Grace Christian School for Kindergarten.  A lot of paper work to have your child start school.  Plus all the paper work for us to check for our share of her learning too. Started our seeds again for the garden.  I think all the seeds sprouted this time.  We celebrated Brody’s birthday this month by going skating after soccer game for Martin.  We also had Ross’s birthday this month as well.

December 18th, 2016

This month was very low key.  We did not have much scheduled outside of the normal dance classes and church events.  We did start looking into new day cares for Isabel since her current one would not be good for transporting her to and from school.  We made a decision on one and visited it to see what it would be like for her.  Nice and well organized for her and us to know all things going on at the center.  This year our church did a travel of Jerusalem to see the final days of Christ before he arose.  It turned out really good, we had guides and moved around like we were in the times hearing from people of the events.  It was detailed enough to keep kids attentions, but not too much to scare them.  It was a change from the normal Easter egg hunt.  At the end there were snacks and goodies for the kids to enjoy.  Month ended with Celebrating Easter in Chillicothe.  Another nice weekend and getting ourselves ready for Spring to arrive.

We had tickets for Disney on Ice and I ended up being sick so could not go, but Brody was able to join Isabel and they had lots of fun at the show.  Then we went to an OSU hockey game through Brett’s church for a family fun night.  It was fun and as usual the kid enjoyed each other and liked seeing the game as well.  Work had their yearly awards banquet for celebrating people’s years of service.  It was mine to celebrate 15 years with the company.  Nice night out dinner and dancing for us adults.  We had been checking out schools for Isabel to go to for Kindergarten and she had an assessment appointment at the school as part of the entry.  They told me it could be two to three hours and bring a snack so I found a place to do some reading while I waited and was very surprised Isabel was finished in less than an hour.  She even had her snack in that time too.  She did just fine and was well into the work, so the process went quickly.  That following weekend was the church Candyland Ball (Father/Daughter Dance) and I had a evening to myself, while my two loves enjoyed dinner and dancing.  It tends to be more fun for Isabel then Daddy, but it is a nice time for them to share.
