July 2009

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

July started out with another girls evening for Rebecca and friends Wendy and Tonya.  They saw “The Proposal” movie, it is a really great movie, definitely go see it if you are able.  It is one of those movies that can make you laugh so much you start to tear.  Then July 3rd we painting our dining room latte.  July fourth Rebecca’s father came up for the weekend and we all went to Picnic with the Pops.  It is an outdoor concert that the Columbus Symphony plays.  Being the fourth of July they also had fireworks at the end of the concert.  While there other communities around us were setting off their fireworks, so when the evening was finished we saw five different firework displays, plus enjoyed a evening of patriotic music.  July 18th Rebecca got together with her girlfriend Katie for the day in Cincinnati.  They went out to eat and caught up on all the things going on with them.  Tracy and I also got some ticket to see the Columbus Clippers (baseball team) on July 21st.  We invited another couple to join us.  It was fun and nice evening out.  July 25th we installed hardwood flooring in the dining room, now all we need is to find a window treatment we like for that room.

That is all for this month.  God Bless!

Shenandoah National Park

June was another good month for us.  Started out celebrating Rebecca’s birthday by going to dinner.  Then we celebrated our 5th anniversary by eating out and taking a trip to Shenandoah National Park.  While at Shenandoah we hiked 25 miles of trails, part of them overlapped with the Appalachian Trail.  We had good weather over all, just one and a half days of rain while there.  During the rain we went to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah Museum.  The Museum was filled with nice exhibits and there was a house and gardens as part of the property to view.  While in Shenandoah National Park we saw nine black bears, a wild turkey family, quail, several birds, many deer, and a couple of snakes.  As for the sights we were able to see a few waterfalls, beautiful outlooks of surrounding mountains and valleys, and just enjoying the wooded outdoors.  We came back from our trip on June 21st, which took us in two places.  Tracy went up to his mom and dad to celebrate with his family for Father’s Day and Rebecca went down to celebrate with her father and pick up Soda.  Mom and Dad Rayer watched Soda for us while on our vacation, this was greatly appreciated.  Of course Soda really enjoys going there since they feed her well and take her to the park daily.  Then Rebecca got together with a girlfriend Shana to celebrate their birthdays this month.  It was a great girls night out.
