Christmas 2011

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

This month was filled with lots of fun and excitement.  First weekend we went to visit Santa and Isabel was not ready to see him.  She was fine walking around Santa, but did not want to set in his lap.  We also, visited Isabel’s Great Grandma for the first time.  It was a nice visit and she started to warm up well after being there a little while.  The following week we went to Ogleby and Isabel loved all the lights and things to touch while we were there.  She got to go swimming too which she enjoyed.  The last morning we had breakfast with Santa, who she saw throughout our stay and liked standing next to him and giving him high five, but still did not want to sit on his lap.  Maybe next year she will be ready.  Isabel went to her first ballet this year.  We all went to the Nutcracker Suite.  I had ordered tickets back in July when they had a sale and made sure to get seat at the end of a row.  Isabel lasted about 15 minutes in her seat then watched most of it from the exit where she could walk around and still see the ballet.  When the dancers first came out she got so excited and was making all sort of happy noises and clapping.  We had some birthdays this month, first was my sister, Aunt, and Uncle and Tracy’s mother’s birthday.  We all gathered north to celebrate Mom M’s birthday for the day.  Week before Christmas Tracy had to go to NY for a business trip and Martin had his Christmas program.  So while Tracy was stuck in an airport I went with my dad to watch Martin’s program.  It was a nice show and kids all did well.  Friday we went to the Zoo to see the lights and animals.  It was a good time for it and enjoyed the day.

Christmas Eve we went to church and did the normal relaxing during the day.  After Isabel went to bed we brought things up for the next morning.  I had not put anything under the tree because Isabel really enjoyed tearing off any bows on the wrapped gifts.  Finally came Christmas, it would be Isabel’s first and we were all so excited to see how she would be Christmas morning.  We had picked up a toy train and had it up and running before she came down the stairs.  Tracy went down and got it started and the camera ready.  As soon as the train started making noises Isabel was ready to go and see what it was all about.  When she came down her eyes got so big and the excitement started with the train.  She was so happy with it and just watched it move around the tracks.  Then we pushed on the conductor and the train stopped and played some music which she danced too and then wanted it to start moving again.  It was just so great how she enjoyed the first of her gifts that morning.  Isabel did open her gifts one by one and would climb on any of the boxes while tearing the paper off of them.  She was really having a lot of fun this morning.  Then we had to get ready for the trip north to celebrate with the rest of family.  It was another wonderful time as usual and we all enjoyed ourselves for the afternoon.   The end of the month I spent some time working on decorations for Isabel’s birthday cake that would be on January 2nd.  Tracy and I went out for lunch and a movie for the last day of the year while the grandparents watched Isabel.

It was a good end to another year.  We had so much to be thankful for this year especially with the addition of our daughter Isabel.  Ready to start a New Year and enjoy all the adventures we will have coming.  Thanks to all that were a part of our year and May you be blessed in the New Year.

God Bless,

Rebecca, Tracy, Isabel, and Soda
