Fireworks of July 2013

August 7th, 2013

Our first week of the month was spend at the Beach enjoying the swimming pools, ocean, and sand. My good friend David was able to visit us while we were there as well. Hard to believe we have been friends for 20 years now. We had a lot of rain the first part of the week, but it always worked out just fine. We went over to the alligator adventure on morning and also to see the tigers too. We got to see fireworks up and down the coast on the 4th and went to a big cookout as well with live music and games. Isabel was all about the party scene:) After that she kept talking about how much she was ready to party. The following day our newest niece finally made her arrival. It was great to hear everyone was doing well once she came. We came home from vacation and Tracy had to leave on a business trip to Pittsburgh for the week. While Tracy was gone we celebrated Mom’s birthday with some cake and pie.  Then went out to Buca’s for a nice dinner when Tracy came back.  That following weekend we went to the zoo and then over to the Wilds to see all the animals.  We spent the last day of the month at the park enjoying the beautiful weather.  We tried to get out as much as possible to enjoy this mild summer.

June 2013

July 21st, 2013

We were very busy this month.  Started the month our with my birthday and our 9 years wedding anniversary.  Both Tracy and I had bronchitis for about a week this month.  We celebrated Father’s day at home and had a community yard sale that same weekend.  We went one evening with friends to popcorn picnic and free movie.  Isabel and Tommy had a great time.  Also got together with my dear friend Shana and went to the farm.  Isabel, Alex, and Abby had a good time playing around while Shana and I caught up.  Ended the month by heading to the Beach and spending and evening and morning with my sister and her family.  So it was nice to end the month with the start of our vacation for the summer.

God Bless,

May Flowers 2013

June 5th, 2013

Started the month out by supporting a good friend as she ran her first quarter marathon.  What a wonderful accomplishment for her and I was very honored to be there to support her that day.  While I was out having some fun with girlfriends Tracy and Isabel made a trip to the Zoo with Brett, Kate, Martin, and Brody.  Then they went out to a playground trip with James and Tommy.  So we all had a wonderful time.  We made a trip to see the farm as well that weekend.  Isabel got to see and pet a day old chicken and also some of the 3 week old ones too.  That day she informed us she still wants to be a farmer, mainly because she likes all the animals there.  The next weekend we celebrated Mother’s day by the three of us going to the Franklin Conservatory and watching the butterflies.  Isabel was so excited and even got to hold one for a few seconds before she decided having a buy crawl on her hand was not as fun as she thought:)  Then the whole week I kept hearing how she wanted to have a butterfly on her arm and see the piggies again.  Later in the week the three of us went out for dinner to celebrate Tracy’s birthday.  This month we also have been watching the tadpoles slowly change and soon they will be frogs.  The caterpillars we got last month have officially changed into butterflies and soon we will let them go.  We made another trip to the Franklin Conservatory and Isabel was just as excited as she was the first time to see all the butterflies.  We celebrated Spring birthdays, May has Tracy’s and Dave’s birthday and mine is early June.  So Dave hostessed the family gathering to celebrate.  We also had our niece’s birthday this month as well.  Memorial weekend we went the to Ice Cream Festival, but were not able to pick strawberries as they were not ready yet.  Then while Tracy and I said home to do some cleaning Isabel went to the Zoo with grandma and grandpa and then to the park.  Ended the month with Tracy and Isabel giving Soda a bath outside.  So it was a great month and lots of things went on.  Now onto June for even more events.

April 2013

May 13th, 2013

We started the month with some fun celebrating Brody’s birthday.  Which was a wonderful gathering and fun for all that made it.  Interesting month by having one nephew turning 3 and another later in the month turning 18.  This month did not leave much free time, but we enjoyed it all very much.  We made a few trips to the Zoo, Isabel even had one trip just with Granny and Papa.  We also started to visit Slate Run Historical farm to see the new animal additions.  Every moment we have during the week and weekends we have been spending the nice weather outside.  Isabel loves to play outdoors and so we try to let her run out as much energy as possible:)  She has been growing so much and now she has to watch her head or she bumps into things she use to be able to walk right under.  We ended the month celebrating Ross’s birthday and had a nice time with the family for the day.  One thing that is growing with Isabel beside her height is her imagination.  She is starting to tell stories and it amazes us how much detail she has for them.  My favorite one this month was how she squashed a spider.  We came to pick her up at daycare and she kept talking about stepping a on spider then kicking it and finally putting it in the trash.  The whole time re enacting it for us.  She also got some caterpillars delivered to watch grow and eventually turn into butterflies.  She has been checking them out every day.

Clovers to Eggs March 2013

April 18th, 2013

This month we had our normal Ohio wather and started to enjoy some events of Spring.  We made a trip to make some Glass eggs at The Works.  Isabel enjoyed her time there as well.  Rebecca did some volunteer work with church and consignment sale for a friend.  It was fun and was able to pick up so nice things for Isabel this summer.  We had the annual Easter Egg hunt for our church Palm Sunday weekend.  That was fun for the kids and even had Brett, Kate, the boys, and both of Isabel’s Grandparents there to enjoy the hunt and breakfast.  The last weekend of the month went to Chillicothe to enjoy Easter with family and friends there.  The weather was nice so spent a lot of time outside having fun.  Over all it was a good month with family and friends and now moving on to warmer weather and spring flowers.

God Bless,

Happy Hearts February 2013

March 5th, 2013

This month seemed to go by so quickly.  Started the month out with a trip to visit with a good friend Katie.  We had a nice time to catch up as usual.  I took Isabel with me so Tracy was able to enjoy a weekend of “Me” time.  The next weekend I went with a girl friend to see Shen Yun performance.  It was a good night of Chinese music, dance, and stories.  Isabel had a Valentines party for her class.  They got little goodies to take home and some throughout the day.  Then Tracy and Isabel were able to spend couple days visiting with Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandma McCoy.  Then we gathered at the McCoy for some family togetherness.  Kids enjoyed the time and so did we adults.

Isabel is being more regular about using the potty and started to ask her teachers to go potty as well.  When she uses the potty if we are out everyone between the restroom and table know how Isabel is a big girl and uses the potty.  It amazing how many adult strangers will praise her for going to the potty, which makes her tell even more people.  We have fun watching her develop every day.  My favorite phrase she is has been using this month is “You silly goose” which she tells Daddy.

New Year 2013

February 25th, 2013

Started our month out with some snow and slick roads.  Playing in the snow with Isabel as she really enjoys making snow angels and sledding.  We took off to celebrate Isabel’s 2nd birthday by going to an indoor water park where she got to splash around and enjoy the water.  The first weekend we had her birthday party with family and friends and kids had a good time running around.  Went out for an evening to celebrate a good friend’s birthday just us girls all dressed up and having good time.  Last weekend for the month had another friend’s birthday to attend and nice time watching kids run around there too.

Christmas 2012

January 21st, 2013

xmas pictureWe started the month with a Christmas party for kids through our work.  It was a nice time Isabel got to decorate a cookie, do some crafts, and see Santa.  Although she was not going to sit on Santa’s lap again this year, we were able to get a family picture with him.  Then we spent a few days at Ogleby and had breakfast with Santa before leaving.  It was a nice time; Isabel enjoyed the lights, but really enjoyed the swimming pool.  I was even able to get a pedicure at the spa for a relaxing time to myself.  The decorations were beautiful and had the rain stayed away we were ready to go to the zoo there too.  However, we ended up going to the glass shop and making paper weights instead.  The following week we went to The Works and made glass ornaments at their open glass workshops.  That was really fun and while we did that Isabel was able to play and have lots of fun as usual.  Tracy and Isabel went out to celebrate Judy’s birthday and then on to watch Martin’s Christmas program.  I would have loved to join them, but was really sick at that time.  Heard it was another success for Martin and a good visit with the rest of family.  Christmas was a wonderful time and was nice to only have to drive a few minutes to celebrate this year as Brett, Kate and the boys hosted for the first time.  Nice gathering as usual and fun time for the kids.  The weather gave us some snow later in the month and just kept giving the rest of December.  So unfortunately we were not able to celebrate a good friend’s graduation party New Years Eve, but stayed home and warm for the evening.  Yeah for doing so well Wendy!

Isabel is growing so much everyday and becoming more into her own little person.  It is such a blessing to be a part of it and enjoy each day with her.  Tracy is getting very good at playing pretend with her as she becomes better at it too.  I love watching the two of them with the tea cups and play food and join in at every moment.  Tracy is also learning about princesses so he can play with her new castle tooJ  She is getting more and more into wanting to use the potty and probably uses it half of the time when we are at home, which is helping her more to know when to ask before she goes in her diaper.  Next month she will be 2 and we will have some fun celebrating that time with her.

God Bless,

Rebecca, Tracy, Isabel, and Soda

Thankful November 2012

December 11th, 2012

This month was a relaxing one for us.  I got to enjoy some of my craft bazaars for the season and found some good deals.  We did not have much planned for our weekends so were able to relax and enjoy some time at home.  We did have a birthday party for a good friend of ours which was lots of fun for Isabel and the rest of the kids there.  It is amazing how getting cake and noise makers to little kids would keep them entertained.  Then came Thanksgiving where all the families gather for another year of Thanks.  Always nice that all three families are able to come and enjoy the day and many thanks for our Host Ross and Judy.  We also got some exciting news of a new addition coming in June for Brett and Kate.  The Clan is growing.  Then we meet up with a cousin of ours the next day for another great visit.  Did a little shopping and had our annual cookie baking day as well.  Ended the month with a gathering of some girlfriend to celebrate Christmas and went to “Jail” to raise money for MDA.  Finished the month with a work Christmas party at Dave and Busters.

The leaves are Falling October 2012

November 4th, 2012

We started the first weekend of the month making apple sauce at our home with Tracy, Isabel, Grandma, Judy, Ross, and Rebecca.  It was a nice day out and having fun.  Then Isabel and I went to Chillicothe for the following weekend to give Tracy a full weekend of “me” time.  He had a wonderful time and then we ended that weekend celebrating our nephew’s birthday.  The down side to the weekend was Judy and Ross had to make an unexpected trip to Chicago to celebrate the life of the beloved Aunt Toot.  Although her passing was unexpected, what a Blessing she was to all her family and friends.  The following weekend we celebrated Dad’s birthday by going to The Works and making glass pumpkins.  It is a fun place and Isabel is always entertained with the activities the have there. We also made it to the zoo for Boo at the Zoo.  It was a nice day to be out and had fun seeing all the animals and kids in costumes.  Later in the week Tracy’s uncle Rich had an accident with an ATV.  He is healing and we keep them all in our prayers for a full recovery.  Then we made another trip to The Works to pick up our glass pumpkins and the turned out very nice.  We ended the month with a very cold Trick or Treat night with some rain to go with it.  Isabel went to a few house of our close neighbors and enjoyed getting treats.  She was a pink poodle for the evening.  The also had a Harvest party that day too.  The kids enjoyed all the goodies parents supplied for them to welcome Fall.

Isabel is growing every day and it is such a joy and blessing to watch to develop.  This month she is wanting to use the potty more frequent.  She likes to sing some we understand and some we do not, but with taking music classes that really keeps her interested.  When there are motions and movements to songs she is all about working her groove mover.  One of her favorite things to do outside these days is crunch leaves on the ground and check each one out to make sure there is no crunch left.

God Bless,

Rebecca, Tracy, Isabel, and Soda
